A Brief History of Wyldewood Productions

Our stygian journey began many years ago in the dark recesses of Hackney’s thrift markets seeking out uncut second hand splatter films and late nights spent watching Italian barbarian epics. Immersed within this world of shadow/fantasy and Grand Guignol, Steve and Merlyn soon became disciples of the gibbous waning moon.

We met by chance in a dingy backstreet music rehearsal studio and through our mutual tastes in creating noise we soon discovered we had a strong connection, in all matters related to film, history and legend.

However it took until early 2009 over several jars of mead in the local pub for us to take the plunge and embark on our Wylde adventure into the unknown abyss that is film making on the fringe.

Our goals and ambitions…

Based in Central London, our aims are primarily to produce independent engaging films ranging from the dark realms of horror/fantasy through to historical drama and music videos. We believe in perpetual motion in all areas of production and project ideas in order to maintain the creative and energetic ideas which are the core of our company’s ethos.

At present we are dedicated to making a series of effective short films and developing our feature ideas. With this in mind our objectives are to provide the audience with a highly visually stimulating and thought provoking experience.

As our skills further develop over time we aim to create the films we have always dreamed of making. These films will be unforgettable experiences that will one day further enhance the already brilliant independent British film industry. We seek to achieve our dreams by always retaining quality of product and realistic budgeting.
